Re: Cold In The Shop
I've noticed it does this about the same time every year. Not much you can do about it..

Re: Cold In The Shop
Not the kind of weather for outdoor plumbing here. We have the distinction of being the coldest part of Canada today. The whole province is in the red on weather maps. I don't even want to go outside but when I do I won't be working on old Fords/Mercurys. A good day to do a little online shopping for new front brake hoses for the Merc.

Re: Cold In The Shop
Well they lightened up a little on the forecast. And pushed it back a few days.

Re: Cold In The Shop
Seems like the weather systems have slipped a bit and we are getting "North Pole weather" here in the middle of Canada. Its only -20F this morning so things are looking up. Not quite warm enough to fire up the old flathead yet but hopefully next week. Might have to shovel a little snow in front of the shop doors.

Re: Cold In The Shop
It is cold here in Ohio. 15 degrees last night. In addition to not being able to work in my garage, I have to put up with Kee-Kee birds.
At 4:30 a.m. they woke me up screaming "Kee,Kee,Kee,Keerist it's cold.! (: (: |

It warmed up here to the high teens today. I fired up the furnace for a while in the shop and got up near 50 degrees while I worked on the park lights on the Merc. Got the rusted , twisted off screws removed and found some replacements so I could do a trial installation. Looked pretty good.

Re: Cold In The Shop
We spent the last 20 winters in the Florida Keys where it was warm but I had no garage and I was bored. So we sold the place and came back to Ohio for the winter where I have a garage.
Until this year the garage had no heat and I'm too damn old to enjoy my garage in the winter without heat so I had the walls insulated to R19 and the ceiling to R38 and had a 75,000 BTU Reznor propane fueled heater installed in one corner. The garage is a 3 bay with just over 1000 sq ft and 12 foot walls and this package does a great job of keeping the garage comfortable without a large expense.
