Default torque tube bearing retainer

the bearing retainer(B 4245-A) that sits behind the front bearing assembly and sleeve in the torque tube appears to be undamaged when removed. Is it supposed to have a rubber lip seal in conjunction with the round coil spring in the retainer? If so, who sells these?

When I took mine out along with the bearing sleeve, it was greasey and did not notice which side of retainer goes into tube first. Can someone point me in the right direction?

B4245 is not a bearing retainer, it is the upper drive shaft seal, keeps the U joint lube from flowing down the torque tube. It goes below the driveshaft upper bearing race, when assembled correctly, to remove it you must remove the bearing race if you didnt you...got parts.. price is $ 2.50..... installation the seal lip fits female to male meaning the seal is positioned lip side to the u joint or closed tin side to the pinion however you would like to call it.

just going by what "green book" calls it "retainer assy (drive shaft bearing grease)"
Is there supposed to be a rubber seal associated with the retainer?
