Default 55 Ford car guages

Does anybody know what the factory suggested ohmmeter readings should be for the fuel gauge at the "empty", "full" and halfway marks and for the temperature guage "cold", "hot" and normal marks. I don't think this is given in the shop manual.

Temp gauge, no clue.

Fuel gauge. They work on heat and current flow thru bi-metal contacts in the sender and another bi-metal strip in the gauge.
The resistance of the coil in the gauge should be constant.
Assuming the 'full-sized car' version is the same, the T-Bird parts catalog I've got says the coil resistance of a '55 fuel gauge should be 11 to 12 ohms.

AS said above , the gauges work with bi metallic strips/points (King Seely design). There are usually less than desired results from using resistance style senders with the King Seely gauges. That being said, the Ford fuel gauges work best with senders rated at 10 ohms full and 73 ohms empty. It has been my experience that they will not read accurately across the scale. I adjust mine to tell me when the tank is nearing empty.
I don't know anything about the temp gauge.
