Default 40 frame side mounts.

What is the common name for the body mounts that are rivited to the side of the frame? I have seen them called outriggers but I am sure that is not the correct name. I need to find a pair of the fronts and need to know what to call them.

Drake calls then "body mounts" although they are not available yet.

Wescott's calls them Outriggers. Personally haven't used them, but have used both their Rear Crossmember and the Cross Braces and found them to be of very good quality.

Precision Coachworks made a very nice set of the Body Mounts. The owner of the shop passed away and the business has been sold. I do not have the name or contact of the new owner. Some of the replacements are welded in place and others bolt or rivet to the original locations for attachment.

I believe that Chassis Engineering also has them.

I would prefer to bolt them in place rather than weld them. I hope to find some good originals, or may just have to wait for Drake to make them.

I've used several sets of CE body mounts. Welded them on repro frames and bolted them on original rails. Never had a complaint.

Roy Nacewicz has outriggers on page 97 of the Early Ford V8 catalog at www.Fordbolts.com.
