They say to keep challenging yourself when you retire. I am 72, so I thought it might be interesting to learn something new. If you notice the trees don't have leaves on them yet, since I started this back in April. I always had on the leather bomber jacket back then, sicne it was in the low 50's, so when I shot the last scene, coming out of the tunnel, I wore it again, but this time the temp was 83. I have to learn to do these in one shot.

Checking each piece of music is also a challenge, since most is copyrighted. It definitely limits what you have available.

Think I will do another one in the Fall to catch the colors, once the trees change.

What always amazes me, is if you notice where the replies come from, (Solihull, England and Melbourne, Australia). When I was a kid, I lived in a small town, and my world was the edge of that town.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Thats a great ride along in the Merc. Reminds me a bit of one of my favourite ol movies "The Long Long Trailer". I've got a few music copyright strikes against my videos but its not a problem unless your channel is monetized.

Thanks for the memories, my Dad had a '53 Merc two door sedan, 4 of us kids in the back, Mom and Dad in front, a 14 foot rowboat on the roof rack and an outboard in the trunk, off to the lake we went.

roosty6

Very nice! I"m impressed how you get so much good exhaust sound and not drowned out by wind noise.

I clipped the microphone to a suction cup, placed at the bottom of the trunk lid, next to the exhaust and out of the wind. I also put a "dead cat" (not a real one) over the microphone. The camera rig is just made from Harbor Freight suction cups. I use a bungy cord, as a back up to hold it on, but it a has never been a problem, even at speed.

Also when I was going towards the bridge/tunnel, I was going into the wind and when I was coming back I was going with the wind.

The external mike for the camera will make a big difference. Mine does not have that. Got the "Ram" suction mount and it holds very well to glass or a clean smooth surface.
This one I shot earlier this year had the suction mounted Gopro low on the right rear quarter near the bumper so it did pick up some of the single straight pipe sound.

Mike jack on GoPro camera, same as the charging jack.
