Default Great day back on the road! Henry knows best!!!

Some months ago while out for a leisurely drive a very nice lady tooted at me to tell me I had a rear wheel wobbling. Turns out I had a cracked left rear axle. While I had it up on blocks pulling the rear end I decided to check the drive train and Ujoint - Oh well might as well check the tranny (had been whining quite a bit) - oh well better check the clutch - oh well might as well check the pressure plate....... My poor car sat on jack stands with nothing but and engine for quite some time while I s l o w l y fixed/rebuilt most of the components. About 10 days ago I had it all back together and ready for a test run when it wouldn't start. This had happened a couple of times before when it sat for a while without being run. Oh buy the way - some time ago I had changed the original distributor with the new and improved NU-REX guts. After multiple attempts at adjusting and fiddling I decided to go back to the original points set up. This afternoon after changing back it started FIRST try!! I then took it for a short test run and what a difference. No clutch chatter, no transmission whining, and everything smooth as silk.

I was SO happy to see her back on the road after quite an absence. And while I am not against progress (I worked with computers all my life but can't use my lap top..lol) I think Henry really DOES know best. And oh yes - thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to answer my many questions along the way. What a great forum and wonderful people!!

When something works like it should, it's best to start changing parts, so you have something to fix. LOL

Besides that, we need to keep the economy going.
