I think the engine has a 400jr in it. I know it has a C4, because I gave him one for it. Sorry to see it go, but I know Walt would like someone to enjoy the ride. Gramps

I have a pic of Walt in the dragster next to my computer, we talked a lot when we were building ours.
He was a great help and a nice friend.

It has a 425 unless he changed it recently.

Thanks Pete, for the update. We talked about the cam when he was building it. I thought he used the 400jr, with the c4. 425 would be a better choice??

I've read the posts on the HAMB. As you said some, not so friendly comments but some very positive comment as well. I've never met Walt but I've learned a lot from his posts. And by all the comments about him over the years he is definitely the "Flathead King" like it says on the dragster. No, the car isn't some exotic vintage FED or streamliner but it was built by a true hot rodder/engine builder. Hopefully whoever buys it will appreciate it and not carve it up for the parts. JMO.

I don’t think you hurt anyone’s feelings.....certainly not mine.....I used to ride up and see him every couple or three months but life-work-health issues have been getting in the way for a while now....we all connect with each other in seconds on a computer but most of us live miles and miles apart.....when you hear of someone’s car being for sale that’s what you think....no harm done.....Mark

Well, I just asked "mylife" about Walter L. Dupont in Gardiner, Maine whether they had any disturbing news, and their page indicates that Walt is still percolating, and will be 85 on January 28, 2021. Link below! DD
