Default 6v Coil Wiring

59A Engine setting up on a Run Stand. Stand is timber construction.
6v +ve earth. Using a round type coil. Wire from ignition goes to -ve side of coil and +venside of coil to distributor?
Just seeking confirmation.
Also since timber is used for stand frame to bolt a metal strap to timber frame and connect earths to this point?
Appreciate advice.
