Default Model B Starter Switch

Picked up a B starter & switch for my hopped-up A...curious if a gasket is used between the switch and the starter (like the Model A uses).

I ask because there's not much distance between the contact on the switch and the post on the starter...the lever on the switch only moves 1/4" or so before contact is made.

Here's the switch;

No gasket was used originally.

And I think no gasket was used on A either...it may be a phantom aftermarket part like the torque tube gasket for Model A's.
A switch gasket would have no insulating value, if that's what you are asking about, since the mounting screws would bypass it electrically.

The early 28 starter with the 1/2" bendix shaft and early style starter switch uses a gasket. Later A's did not use the gasket to the best of my knowledge. Rod
