Default Old stock cars

I went to the historical stock cars the other night , # 88 -1935 was running a 91A relieved block single carb ,the black 37 was running twin carbs and other mods ,but the 35 guy was confident he could pass him but due to a repoped electrical part he broke down .

These old style stock-cars are a bit special for me here, we worked very closely doing all the machining on my good friend's (Bill S.) years ago. We did the machining back in 2000, 17 years ago!

Sold it a few years back, was still running with all the same internals, Ross pistons, stock Merc (4.000) crank, and the factory OEM rods!

Bores were at 3.375" and we built him a custom center-main girdle, was tied into the middle cap and out to both pan rails! I still have the original pattern here (photo below).

Billy did all the assembling, we did all the machining! I still speak with him regularly. He also did a fair amount of porting!!

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. This thing would run up & down @ 5000 RPM+ all night long on the track up here in N.Y.

Gary in NY, when you mention Ross pistons, are they made in USA?

I bought Ross pistons from here in Victoria Australia, I thought they were made by this compnay here themselves.

I suppose the Q I am asking, are these 2 separate companies just with a like name ?

The Ross pistons we have made are done here in California, Mike is now the owner (as of a few years ago), "Moe" was the original owner!

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. Possible to have a company over your way with a similar name, not sure? I can tell you this, we've recently sent a bunch of Ross sets over your way, not sure for a business or individuals??
