Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
if memory serves, that car was crashed into a tree [in the movie]. the setting was either a golf course or a horse racing track [it`s been a long time since i`ve seen the movie].

Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
'dolled' up ...that's good one, as she sure dolls up that car ! Even if you were looking at and indicating the beautiful 6" wide whitewalls !!

Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
Anyone know the name of the movie ?
Like to get it as I have 1936's " Give me a sailor " with Bob Hope and his 33 trunk type roadster gets blown up in the movie . Joan was DEFINATELY part of the " Dolled up " bit . |

I'll hunt up the movie title for you David. Joan had this V-16 Cadillac before she bought the 1933 V-16 Town Car. |

Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
I have seen this photo before. I thought that it was DAVID J, in his best "Saturday Night Stepping Out" outfit.

Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
This is Joan's 34 Ford Roadster, while the Roadster that is shown damaged is a 1933 Ford. What are the wheels on this 34, as they seem to have more "spokes" than the Jumbo wheels? |

Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
I can't see how the sportlight is fastened to the W/S post. Does anyone have a photo of a mounting bracket for the '33-34 open cars ?

This pic is in the Illustrated History of Ford by George Dammann page 109.

Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
I searched and searched. I entered all her mid 1930s movies into the IMDb automobile/movie database. Came up with nothing. An internet search brought me back to the regular IMDb photo data base and the caption there indicates that the Ford is one of her personal cars.

Re: Joan Crawford's 34 roadster
Thanks for looking Tony , Kinda makes sense it was hers . Look at the amount of money spent on " dolling " it up .
The other extreme is Bob Hopes 33 roadster . Standard - trunk and not even all there and it was only 3 years old . Quote:
