Default grease suitable for torque tubes

just wondering what grease is suitable for torque tubes and front unis as greases have changed radicaly since the 30s i remember as an apprentice we had several in stock for different jobs ie one for wheel bearings another for universals and yet another for spring eyes and so on etc these days we have one that works for everthing and works well but torque tubes and internal unis are now rarely seen in every day life

The damper bearing just needs a rotating bearing grease. Any quality rotating bearing grease will work. It doesn't have to be wheel bearing grease since there is no brake drum heat to worry about.

The U-joint works well with a product made for corn header gearboxes on John Deere combine harvesters. It's known as corn head grease and is available from John Deere dealers. In your location, I don't know how easy it is to find. It is a thixotropic type grease and there are other types that may substitute but I haven't researched them. Most are made for the same purpose for other combine manufacturers.

Be sure not to "over grease" the center bearing. I would think you could use the the fiberous wheel bearing grease. I forget the part number.
