Default 1930 Tudor out for a drive

Last fall my ‘30 Tudor let me down when my family and I took it in our annual fall drive to an apple orchard a couple of towns away. I’ve owned this car for 22 years and this was the first time I didnt get where I was going. The fan/water pump pulley fatigued and broke, so I limped it home. It sat for a year until I found another fan. A recent Swapmeet score on a $10 fan/pulley got me up and running again and we took the Tudor on our annual trip last weekend. Just a few pics to share.

You're lucky that old fan didn't take the radiator out!! The new to you fan may take out the radiator, a known problem with old original fans. When you can afford a new balanced aluminum and recommend replacing ! Oh and get that car out more offend and enjoy!

Your loacation shows Pewaukee, WI, but the plate on your car is Illinois AV.

Yeah, the fan was still on the shaft, the pulley separated from the fan. I’ll be keeping a closer eye on this fan as I probably would have noticed the old one cracking before it finally completely failed.

I use to live in collinsville, Illinois and haven’t changed plates yet.

why did you wait so long. Why didn’t you just order one from Snyder’s or Berts ?

I would also suggest that you get a new one piece aluminum fan from one of the major suppliers. I've heard (and seen) horror stories of fans coming apart while running.

No good excuse really, but I buy another old ford (2 owner 40 ford deluxe) and it’s consumed sometime as it was sitting for a few years. I’ve also been consumed with my other projects and kids.

On the bright side , I’ve been driving the A everyday since. Taking and picking my kids up from school, work, grocery store. Stock model As are more fun than most people give them credit for. This car has had some paint touch up but never restored or overhauled.
