Default Battery for 1936 Ford

Does anybody know if there is a major battery company that makes a low-profile battery to fit the 1936 Ford? I don't really need an original Ford repro style, just one that fits in the original battery area. Thanks, Don

There have been many posts on this subject. A quick search should provide a lot of info on this. There is a conventional 6V low profile battery available for VW's, but you take a hit on CCA rating. Optima 6V Red Top is another choice. I went with the Optima in my 35. Made a bolt in mount that requires no modifications to stock battery box.Could change back to stock type battery and mount in 10 minutes if desired. Another option is to use a 2HF higher profile, conventional type battery, and a special raised cover made and sold by Larry Cossar(sp?).

Yes. If you send me a pm or email I can send you his contact info. It has also been posted here by Larry in previous posts on batteries.
