Re: Chrome repair
That trim is stainless steel and thin. Unless you can weld stainless it needs to be sent out to a real talented welder.

Re: Chrome repair
TJ is 100% correct. I have repaired worse but again, as TJ had advised, unless you really know your stuff, send it to a professional.

Re: Chrome repair
It's just trim that can be made nearly invisible with a bit of JBWeld, maybe an extra screw or two, and aluminum furnace tape at home. Unless of course you're fussier than I am. 8^) Jack E/NJ

Re: Chrome repair
39 Grill trim bottom ? ,If it is Remove it and with a 1/2 head carriage bolt in the vice tap it down over that as a anvil so the end s meet nice, drill a couple fresh screw holes underneath ,then get some stainless steel and cut and shape two caps like on the garnish on a 37 to 39 windshield just above the dash .Tap it around a 1/2 bolt in the vice to shape them ,make a hook at the top with a tail on it that you can drill n screw underneath at the bottom .make one for the other side so they match and polish it all ,This is not a professional. repair but might get you out of a hole ,otherwise follow all the good previous advice .Ted

Re: Chrome repair
It is on top of a 39 pickup grille and very visible. I seen it tonight as I was getting the splash guard down. I would like to try something to tone it down.

Re: Chrome repair
Find a person that is proficient at tig welding thin stainless. This would be easy for a good welder to repair.
