Vic, I think the TROG has been going on for a few years on the Jersey Shore....so maybe next year and you could plan on entering one of your "racers". Have heard the entries fill up fast, so it might not be too soon now!!!

Dick.

Dick & Tinker, this is a downer for a bunch of people I'm sure. I was looking forward to checking out the event so, now I'll have to wait until next year. I'm going to miss out on the Moonshine Festival this year as well (first time in nine years)... I'm having Flathead event withdrawal symptoms... According to the local weather, we are going to have a very pleasant weekend here in the Tampa Bay area so... I hope I'll be able to take a few of the Flatheads out for some cruisin'

Yesterday started out on a good note, I left the house at 8:00 am, headed for the weekly 'Hot Rod Breakfast", about 50 miles north. The sun was shinning and the temp. was in the low 80's, combined with low humidity, it was excellent for topless cruisin in the '39 Ford Convertible Sedan. I was a little over half way to the location when I started seeing south bound traffic with headlights on... A little further north the sky was getting dark... now, rain drops started appearing on the windshield so... I pulled onto the shoulder of the Parkway, and put the top up. To those of you who are unfamiliar with early Ford V8 Convertible Sedans, it is not an easy task for an individual to put the top up, and it normally takes more than a few minutes to complete the operation... Well, the rain was getting stronger by the second so, I did manage to get the top up and secured in record time... Wouldn't you know, the rain stopped about five minutes after I was back on the road. I picked up my friend Mike, and we got to the breakfast (dry). After breakfast, we drove back to Mike's house and messed with his '41 Ford Coupe for a while. The sun had reappeared however; I didn't want to chance dropping the top for the ride home so... this is me, not going topless, and not happy about it…

I don't think I would care to see you topless, Vic. Thanks. LOL

By popular demand, the Cigar City Flatheads will be offering T-Shirts for sale in the very near future. Our first batch will all be (Extra Large, to match my personality... ). The shirts are a medium gray with a large CCF logo on the front in full color, and will be ready in about two weeks. Cost per shirt is $14.95 plus $3.50 S&H for up to three shirts. Just think… you could be the first kid on your block to be stylin' in a CCF T-Shirt. To order your very own Cigar City Flatheads T-Shirt, send an email to v[email protected] or PM me for details. Thanks for supporting the Cigar City Flatheads.
