New guy.
Hey all, just picked up an all original (minus the tires and oil) 41 Ford. I think it is a Deluxe but I am not 100% sure. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. After surfing some posts I think this will be a great place to be for help!
Thanks! Kyle |

Welcome aboard, you will find this site to be the most helpful bunch of flathead groupies anywhere. (most of us are too old to be called groupies). Ask a question & you will be well taken care of. I always have been.

Re: New guy.
I'll be the first to say it looks like a 1942 to me. Welcome aboard, Byron W.

Re: New guy.
Welcome to the Barn. Your VIN can be checked against the serial numbers on Mac VanPelt's web site. The 41s were an "only" transition year. There were a lot of items that were only used that one year on them. They had Special, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe models that year. Some had the new G-series 6 cylinder engines but most had the more popular V8. If it is a 41 with the 42 front, it will sure confuse a bunch of Ford folks.
It looks like it has the fan from 1942 in there as well. I'd be checking the serial against the 1942 list for sure. The 1941 models had the fan on the crankshaft and they had differences that would make it a chore to make it look like a 1942 model. The dash is also 1942. If it was an early 1942, it may have been titled in 1941 as a 41 model. Some states were different in that respect. It looks to be a 1942 Deluxe Fordor with the chrome grill & front bumper. Ford had to shut production down in early 1942 for the war effort so there aren't near as many 42 models out there a the earlier models. Last edited by rotorwrench; 10-16-2013 at 12:39 PM. |

Re: New guy.
Kyle,
It appears to be a 1942 Ford Deluxe sedan. I just bought a 1948 business coupe and the PA title states it is a 1948. The VIN starts with a 79A prefix which is 1947.Have a fellow in town that has a 1936 five window and the state titled that as a 1935. |
