1931 Mod. A door hinge pin removal.
I feel that I have tried everything to remove the last hinge pin from my 1931 late model pick up door. I have heated the hinge, soaked it with rust remover and borrowed a hinge pin removal tool. All to no avail. Perhaps there is a problem with the tool? The two bolts that apply pressure have square heads that seem to press into the washers perhaps causing friction that I cannot overcome? (Maybe a defective tool?). I feel like the next thing is to drill it out, but I am concerned I won’t drill it straight and I will damage the hinge. Maybe I could take it to a machine shops that would have a hydraulic press? Ideas? Thanks in advance for any input from anyone who has dealt with this problem. The other five came out with out too much fight.
