Default I should know this But what else is new

Any way. What is the best way to check to see if your timing gear needs to be replaced.

Right now if you place your hand over the carburetor when cranking, there is no suction to be feltat all.

Thanks Roger

Never had to confront this but I wonder if you could pull the plugs and spin the engine and try to observe valve action by peering thru the spark plug holes?

Observing the action of the distributor rotor should be somewhat enlightening!

If it is a fiber timing gear you may have cleaned to teeth off of it. And what Very Tangled & ford38v8 posted.
