This weather is getting D*MNED old!!! Nothing but depressing dark skies and rain for the past week, plus cold weather. I had to put the electric blanket back on our bed. Enough already! Where the H--- is the spring weather we all look forward to in the Midwest after a LOOOOOOOOOOOOG winter??? 'Can't get the Model A phaeton out until sunshine and warm temperatures are here to stay. Depressing...

I live in Nashville, Illinois about 50 miles east of St. Louis. From Wednesday through Sunday evening I had 8 inches of rain. We are expecting more on Wednesday 5/3 and Thursday 5/4. Lots of flash flooding, the small rivers that empty into the Mississippi are of course well out of their banks.

Further south of me near Carbondale, Illinois they recorded upwards of 12 inches over the same time period.

My son is outside of St Louis to the west (Moscow Mills) and hasn't said anything. Looks terrible from what I've seen on the news.

I can't speak for Larry except, even Interstates are closed down to and from St Louis...as for me, all is normal here on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River. Catfishing is great................

Wish I could, threw my hip out..........getting old!!!

From the looks of it, you should be casting for them catfish from your easy chair on the front porch!

Hey still around guys.. .yes.. the rain has slowed things for sure. Working on a custom speedster project/chassis for a guy and will post some photos soon of it. Very cool.... spoke to him this morning and he has 8 ft of water in his house and some of his shop in old town Fenton MO on the meremac river. Unbelievable. Yes, the highways, 44, 55, 70 have all had shutdowns from the water. 3-5 more inches tomorrow they say.
I pumped out about 200 gallons from my runabout boat that just leaked in under the cover! Guess I was lucky. Sump pumps from my neighbors have been running as I see the water in the streets. Mine is dry.

All the best to you guys and hope you're safe!! Thanks for asking Big Hammer!

I doubt that, 2-4 more inches coming in tomorrow, unless you grow water wings. I'm fine, Sarah is fine, plenty of food in, still have internet, money holding out for eBaying to past time. I contacted Tom and told him I wasn't going to make deployment, for him to stay safe since I can't be around to protect his arse.

See ya, whenever!!!!!

This past week has been 'Ireland in Illinois' week especially in NW Illinois. Cold and rainy. Sometimes the rain is just whispy little drizzles but always there in between hard rain. And that wind cuts to the bone very very cold and damp but everything is very green and clean

Increased rainfall is perfectly consistent with Global warming predictions. Just wait a little - summer will arrive, then you'll long for the cool!!
As for the rain, we could use some about this time of year most years but this time, Australia has done well. Things are cooling off now as winter approaches, not that our winters are as cold as most of you experience. Not cold enough to prevent most of us driving our As, anyway.

I don't know about the rest of you guys in and around the St. Louis area, but my old relic won't see the light of day until things dry up around here a little.

Larry, I signed up for the Great River Road cruise on the 20th. I hope things dry out enough for that, but things don't look real promising. Especially with US67 being down to just 2 lanes, but hoping for the best.

I was signed up but when it was moved up from the 21st, that knocked me out, grandson graduating from HS the 19th, his party is the 20th. Hiway 100 closed between Grafton and Pere Marquette, hard telling when that will re-open.

Contact Larry Shepard, he's part of the activities committee for the Missouri Valley Region Model A Restorers Club.

"Come join us for a scenic tour of the River Road and scenic and historic sites. Our lunch destination will be Pere Marquette Park with lunch at the lodge. We will leave earlier in the day to get you back earlier. Many of you have been there before, but some have not… and it is some of the most scenic areas in this part of the country. This is a drive your Model A if at all possible, or any other old car you may have. Moderns are of course welcome. If it breaks.. I will fix it.. so just bring your “A”. We promise an eventful day with points of interest and Model A fun and fellowship. We will have two meeting locations, one on the Missouri side at the Moto Mart on Hwy 94 just north of Hwy 370 and 94, at the and one at the Bakery Brew Company just over the Alton Bridge & 94 at the Pit Stop. See below for meeting times. Plan to Attend! Mark your Calendar for May 20th!!! Missouri side Meeting point: Moto Mart Gas station on Hwy 94 just north of Hwy 370 Meet at 8:30 Leave at 9:00 A.M. Bring cash for the Grafton Ferry $8.00 ( use determined by river level and time)
Illinois side Meeting point: Old Bakery Brewing Company400 Landmarks Blvd, Alton Il - Just across the bridge and left on the main road to several blocks down on the right ( before Casino). Meet at 10:00
Cost may be for Ferry and lunch ( order of menu at the Lodge) (restaurant is expecting us)
Bring your Model A or other old car!! don’t worry.. it will make it!"

Right now 267 across the Clark bridge is one lane each way, Grafton is flooded and Route 100 north of Grafton is also cutting off Pere Marquette Park.
