Default Replacement for 4 blade steel fan on 36???

Need to know if there is a replacement fan with more blades for the 15" steel four blade generator end mounted fan. I have a 36 engine that the steel fan was removed and electric fan was installed ( shoe horned between distributor and radiator) I removed the electric fan to work on distributor. I want to install a fan that will work better than the 4 blade steel. Thought I started reading about this on Fordbarn last week but cannot find thread if it exist. Any info or up grade information appreciated, Bruce

there was a 6 blade fan that was a option in 36. I am also on the hunt for one. Just missed one on ebay. They were used on trucks most of the time. Good luck finding one

I found a 6 blade fan 2 years ago. (Might sell for the right offer) Since I rebuilt my Carb. and it seems to run better and cooler and I have heard that the 6 blade is noisy so its hanging on my garage wall along with a chromed 4 blade fan I picked up along the way and have been reluctant to install be cause I show my 36 Cabriolet as mostly stock.

1931, I am looking for plastic, aluminum or what ever, I have a 4 blade and in traffic or parades it is not enough in hot weather. Four small bolts and you have a steel blade back on, save the motor!!!!! Do you have a source????

I had a 6 blade fan many years ago that looked like the stock 36 Ford 6 blade fan with bolted blades to hub and fit on the generator pulley. ONE MAJOR PROBLEM the fan blade pitch was exact opposite of a Ford 4 blade fan. Not sure what it was from but it would be a pusher fan. Maybe some engine application that wanted to keep dirt out of the radiator. Mystery to me, but be sure of the pitch angle directionbefore you buy one.

I bet it was a bus. Years ago a friend of mine spotted a fan for his '34 in a junk yard. Bought it cheap and went home thinking he had really put one over on the man running the junk yard. Put it on his car and found it had a reverse pitch.

What size pulley do you have on the generator--if you have the large diameter one changing to a smaller diameter will increase fan speed

I put a plastic puller fan on my radiator and did away with the belt mount. An electric fuel pump, and a set of mechanical 1 1/2" oil pressure, and temp gauges in my glove box.No more overheating in traffic or parades. I cut the fan off when I'm moving at a reasonable clip. No more overheat, or vapor lock issues. HOORAY!
Yeah, it's not "original" but I want to drive it, not look at it broke down on the roadside. Especially with the wife aboard.

Johndee138, mine had a puller fan, had to remove to get coil/distributor off to clean and tune up, how did you attach to radiator. The one I removed had little plastic type nails with plastic washers. I had to remove one upper radiator hose to work fan out. Thanks for information, Bruce
