Default In the mean time...

I know some people think I can't make blocks, but while I peck away at the model for the 8BA I am doing regular production, replacing a couple of machines and working on setting up a new foundry. Today I had these 2 blocks shot blasted so I can get to work machining them after the current ones are complete. I just finished the stock main journals on an aluminum block yesterday. Lots to do, no help, not enough time.

I started watching what this guy can do with his "A" block and heads on the H.A.M.B. He's the real deal, that's for sure! I have no doubt he will do this. I know there were a few "Flash in the Pan"'s before, but there is no way they should take anything away from Tod's effort.

Tod, I think that it is fantastic that you have this knowledge & ability! I am glad that you are offering this. At some point this will probably be the only way that a person will be able to build most of the antique & classic motors. Thank you. Bill

From my perspective the key elements are the passion and motivation to do such things. I know I am burned out and I admire people who are not.

Looks like that's dedication and not the "Shareholder added value" bull that I have to listen to at work constantly.

Tod, don't concern yourself with what some people think. You will always have the skeptics sitting on the sidelines. The hobby needs this new block over the long haul, and who else would have the knowledge, abillity, and desire to make this happen? Not many if any. Please keep at it as time permits. Many of us here will be rooting for you, and wishing we could help.

Hm, that's an easy one...out in the foundry/shop !

If you mean...what area of USA...that would be Ohio...where cars were made and foundries thrived back when.

That's funny, it wasn't there when I made my earlier post because I looked at his avatar to see his approximate location. Tod must have added it after PeteVS posted his question.
Okay Tod, we're all packing our bags now and moving to Salem, Ohio in the morning

It has been a long time since I have been impressed like this. Holy frikken cow, this Tod guy is gonna give us brand new blocks, and with some improvements that mass production in the 30's, 40's and 50's didn't support.......
