Default Brookville Open Car Brace Brackets

Has anyone used these brackets at the top of their cowl posts?

Do they provide the support needed to attach the Windshield Stanchions?

What do they replace and what do they mount to?

They really don't have anything to do with attaching the windshield stanchions. While they probably do assist to tie the cowl posts, gas tank and the brace running over the gas tank together, their main purpose is to provide mounting points for the finish panel/dash that runs side to side above the gas tank.
