Hi! Has anyone put a bumper on 30 ccpu ? I think if I do I would like the haft bumpers. I also would need a bracket that will work. Help!! Thanks for your help.

Dwight; Use the search function as this has been covered in depth before with pictures. Originally the p/up had NO rear bumper.

Thanks Paul, I have looked and did not see anything on the 30 ccpu. I know that they didn't come with a bumper, but I thought I would see what one would look like.

Mine is outside in the parking lot.

Oh, wait, you are in Michigan. I'll try to post pictures later tonight.

Here's a 28 with bumpers and standard brackets off a car.

A 21 inch spare sat in and under on top of the brackets.

Pooch, which model car did your brackets come from?
A Fordor, Tudor, coupe, what? Or are they all the same?
I'm getting a 29 CCPU, and I'd like a full rear bumper just to provide a little more protection against the brain-dead kids in the tuner cars in the Mall-Wart parking lot!

Others will have to chime in on sameness.

I just bought them at a swap, I presume tudors, coupes and roadsters are all the same.

Like the chassis under was a car one, as I had to drill holes for rearmost body bolts.

using car bumpers will place the bumperettes inside the tail gate line, so they will not protect your tail when parking or if someone taps you from behind. You can take car bumper irons and extend them by welding in a piece at the straight section towards the differential. By extending them, they will need support at the tail. Do this by hanging the small sill brackets off a piece of 1 inch square stock that is fit between the two bed sub frame rails right at the back of the subframe. I wish I had a photo for you. Its an easy conversion. There are three sizes of sill brackets: ( for pics, see a Brattons catalog.)They come in 5 inch, 4.5 inch and 3 inch. They can be installed on any bumper bracket. the length you will need depends on the size of your new cross piece and where you want the bumperettes to hang.

Brackets and bumpers from a '31 4 door slant window. Truck is a '30 ccpu.

I bought the brackets here on the Ford Barn back a couple of years ago. The brackets had been lengthened by about 6 inches. Here are pictures installed. The first couple of pictures show the rear support brace, positioned so that there are no extra holes to drill. Bumper is positioned so that you can let the tailgate all the way down without hitting the bumper. Bumper itself came from Little Dearborn.

I'm thinking of doing this same thing on my 30 roadster pickup. It covers up the license plate using the pickup license plate holder. Has anyone had "Trooper Trouble" after doing this?

2 years and counting (about 3,000 miles) and narry a peep from LE. Add that to the fact that the front license plate is a YOM -- from Texas (and the PU is registered in Alaska), and still no problems.
