I would enjoy having a roster of members in areas I travel. Shouldn't cost much. Or how about one I could print off. Or how about one in paperback form like a black and white magazine? Some of us are getting old and poor.

You can purchase a 2011 MARC Membership Roster for $7.00.

http://model-a-ford.org/products-page/marc-books/

Or you can purchase a MAFCA Membership Roster 2016 for $15.00.

this reminds me of how I once got a notice from the small Southern college I attended, offering an Alumni Directory. After I received it, it was obvious that the book was produced by a third-party publishing organization, and not the College itself. Nonetheless it is a convenient way of tracking down classmates without having to go through the Alumni organization. However, I'm not sure I would buy such a book from a large university as I would a small school from the courtly South.

Yes I just got the card in the mail too, now it's going in the trash instead of me getting scammed......yesterday I must have had a dozen telemarketers call the house for all sorts of rubbish....is this national scamming week or what ??

He then proceeded to try to sell me a "collectors edition" of the forthcoming tome for about $50. When I lacked interest, he offered the publication on a CD, then a toned down paperback version of the book for $30 and then a copy of my page for about $25.
This sounds a bit like the old "Who's Who in American High School" where for a fee they would publish your name along with everyone else that paid the fee. Anyone else know anything about this project?
What they are doing is duplicating what the AACA has in the process that they started this year. The AACA called every member May of this year and asked the same information "But they knew model numbers, and were obviously car people" then you were offered to purchase the publication for a reasonable fee of $79.99. If anyone would like to purchase just call the AACA

The MARC is not the only one that does this. My former Alumni used almost identical wording in their emails. Easy to opt out with a phone call.

I did call to inquire and realized it was an attempt to ring more $ out of me for something I do not want. I told the gentlemen I was not interested. Disappointed to receive this type of solicitation from my hobby

Well, yesterday (11/30/15) I received my Sept-Oct issue of Model A News. In it was a brief notice about the impending book. Other items in the magazine were advertising events that are long past, but still a good read otherwise.

Also in the mail yesterday was another little yellow card "final notice" for the book. Re-cycle bin for it.
