Something new to talk about
This is a visual description of an electrical representation of the acoustical signature of my Model A.
I used the exhaust area to record. Notice only the amplitude changes not the frequency. Just thought it would be of interest Lee |

Re: Something new to talk about
Don't know much about a Model A engine's exhaust acoustical signature.
But for something to talk about: Maybe some future whiz kid may be able to computer analyze Model A engine problems with such a device to record Model A engine flatulence. |

Re: Something new to talk about
After all the comments from people who say that they love the sound of the Model A, I thought maybe someone else may have scoped their car and could compare their sound pattern to mine. Has this not ever been done?

Re: Something new to talk about
It looks a lot nicer than mine. But the recording instrument you're using is probably a lot better than an old Android phone.
Plus, my truck only warmed up for 30 seconds. It could be a little rough, as evidenced by the irregular peaks and troughs. Old stocker, Sears rebuild, no extra goodies. Can you hear the Puckita-puckita-puck?

No I can't. That is why I would like to see what a Good one looks like.

Re: Something new to talk about
I was running at a fast idle (600 rpm?)
The scale is 20ms per division and 5 v per division |
