Default 40 coupe body shimming

A little history; the frame is a 40 but not the original, the door rubs at the top and if I jack under the mount at the B pillar I can correct this. I probably need to double the thickness of the rubber pad to hold the alignment. Should I do that or make steel shims? I've been leaning towards steel.

Go with some steel, but leave enough space so you can still use only one rubber pad on top of the steel. Be sure and take into consideration that the rubber pad will compress when you tighten it down with not and bolt. You can probably use a fender washer to rectify the difference in size.

Thanks, I experimented with some scap pieces of 3/16 steel and it wasn't quite enough. I had some 1/4 aluminum, so I tried that. I added a1/4" shim to the B pillar bolt and the one directly to the rear of it; then I added 1/8" shim to the one in front of the B and I think it worked well
