Default Mercury Crop Tour

Only about a 15 mile trip altogether but enough to warm up the old Merc yesterday evening as I drove it to check on some of the crops. The canola fields getting bright yellow now as blooming starts. Made a good setting for some car pictures.
Only a 2 mile run on two lane blacktop which was a nice change from gravel. Man, those steel belted radials feel every rock in the road. I don't recall the Merc riding that hard when my dad was driving it in the 1960s. I'm thinking maybe the fabric or polyester belted bias ply tires might have been smoother riding.

Very true. The old Merc knows these roads pretty well. It served as the only driver on the farm through the sixties. Doing the duties of car and truck. Nowadays its mostly just for fun.

RalphG, you can post as much as you like. You are an artist! Even the vids from the drone are better than most!

Great pics Ralph you sure live in a pretty part of the world. Reminds of what we called "going on Safari", in the old Holden HQ Police cars in the late 70's. The "safari parks" were paddocks with long grass up to the windows, that were eventually transformed into an industrial area. The Police mechanic always knew when we had been up to this lark because the evidence got caught up on the drag link and tie rods....great days.

Thanks for the high praise on the photos. I'm just lucky to live in a scenic part of the country with uncrowded dirt roads to travel on. I'll try to get some pics of the bison farm I pass by on some of these drives.
I put together a few video scenes of the last trip to town in the Merc. It really shows up how bad the windshield is.

Hi Again, Ralph, I think the windshield is just right for your car. Besides, as soon as you swap it, you just know another stone is gonna find it!
