Rear axle seal part number?
Is there a modern part number that is available from bearing shops for the rear axle grease seal in the hub? The original # is A-1175.
Just hoping there is a modern version available quickly. Yea, I know there doesn't seem to be anything that happens quickly on these cars. thanks roughrider |

Re: Rear axle seal part number?
The original A 1175 part number was superseded by B 1175 and was used up to 1938. It is 3.19" OD as listed in the green bible. The National part number is 416738 and is listed as 3.194" OD. This number is available through any vendor that handles Timken National seals. It's a rear wheel grease retainer by nomenclature and is for the rear wheel hub bearing on the early banjo rear axles.
