Default Bought a speedometer not sure if it Ford

I picked this up at an antique shop, I thought is was for a 1935-36 Ford. The face looks correct but no Ford script on the face. The brackets on the back side are a lot different also. Does anyone know what this may be from?

1935 Ford face. But the back of the speedo seems different than standard.

Bad choice of words on my part...Should have said "different than usual" "instead of different than standard"

Getting back to my original post....the back of this speedo seems strange and not the usual back as shown below.

The back is what is throwing my off, did Ford use the same style mounting on all the body style open car and closed

Yes, The same basic speedometer mounting was used for all body styles. Since Ford didn't make the speedos (made by Waltham, Delco and Borg Warner) its possible that this speedometer was made for someone besides Ford.

The speedo face and needle definitely look to be 1935 Ford, but the back is not right and even the trip mileage reset is in the wrong place.
I would think the actual speedometer internal parts are not Ford, but some other make, and someone has liked the ford speedo face and fitted it to this guage.

Is there a manufacturer name anywhere on the speedo?

Yes it has Delco Appliance Corp, here is a picture also.
GM owns Delco and has since 1929

Don,

Wouldn't that be Stewart Warner?

Doesn't a ford speedo have the cable connection threads on the OUTSIDE?

Well, here's Capt Kirk's speedo out of his '35 Cabriolet. Cable threads are on the INSIDE, and the face looks identical in layout, graphics and clocking of numbers. Even the needle looks the same. The trip re-set IS in a different location. DD
