Good enough for Henry
For those who may be worried about pit holes in their freshly ground crankshafts. This is a factory miscue on a Merc. rod journal ( or maybe just a super accurate balance hole )

I had a crank ground by an old race car builder years ago. It had a couple of pits in the journals after it was turned. He told me don't worry about it because thats just another place to retain oil and he raced cranks like that .
