Not this year Gene, as you know, Dawsonville has been getting too small to handle all the traffic and, with just one main road back to the GA 400, you sit in traffic riding the clutch for at least 45 minutes to over an hour trying to leave... Also, with the new arrangement for displaying show cars, none of us were real keen on driving Flatheads up. I'm sorry I couldn't go but, if I did, I wouldn't have driven one of my Flatheads... Hopefully next year.

The guy's from the Cigar City Flatheads went up to the Moonshine Festival and apparently, they had a blast, which was to be expected... Now, I'm waiting to see photos and hear all the details.

Now that the 2016 Moonshine Festival is behind us, it's time to start thinking about the 2017 Cigar City Flatheads "Barner's Bash"... We have been holding the "Bash" from late February to mid March in the past. In an attempt to accommodate the most Barner's interested in attending, I'm asking for suggestions for a preferred three day weekend in February or March. We will tabulate all the responses to come up with the dates most selected so, please respond here or on the Cigar City Flatheads pages on FaceBook. As always, we are looking forward to hosting another "Barner's Bash". Thanks for your continued support.

What I did on my Lunch Hour...
..okay, it was probably actually two evenings and along afternoon, but since I sold my 2006 F150 I now have space in the driveway to push the Mustang out and get some work done in the garage.

I got the old carpenter's bench cleared off (usually can't see the work surface)
old workbench.jpg

I also got the newer 'working' workbench cleared off
newer workbench.jpg

My new Bob Drake rear bumper brackets are back from powder coating and they sure fit nice...now waiting 3 months for my chromer to finish my bumpers
bumper brackets.jpg

Finally hooked up my air hose reel that sat on my floor for 2 years and has been attached to the ceiling since last winter
air regulator.jpg

I had 5gal buckets, coffee cans, and misc containers of all sorts of hardware...screws, nails, carriage bolts, lag bolts, bolts, nuts, washers, fuses, bulbs, etc etc etc....and got them all emptied out

and the home for all that sorted out hardware..

Wow, I'm envious... My garage looks like a bomb went off in it... Tools and car parts everywhere... The scary thing is, I know where each tool is as well as what parts belong to which car... LOL

I will be hosting the AACA Hillsborough Region’s next meeting on November 9th at 6:30 pm at my garage, All the Cigar City Flatheads are invited to attend. I could also use some help trying to clean up the garage in preparation for the meeting next Wednesday...

Being that it is Election Day, I thought this would be an appropriate time to post our preliminary selection for the 2017 Cigar City Flatheads Florida “Barner’s Bash”. As of now, the unofficial dates are February 24th to 26th. We will still consider other weekends in February or March until the end of this November, at that time we will secure the actual dates. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.
