Default Dad's Work

Being it's the Memorial weekend, I decided it would be a good time to sort out the 65 years plus of photos my parents left behind. I found these pics of some of Dad's restorations. He did many more, but these are the only ones I've found so far. I know these aren't all flatheads, but I figured this group would appreciate what he accomplished.

The T is a 1927, the Lincoln is a 1931, the Indian is a 1924 but the other Fords and Merc l'm a little iffy on, if someone can id them I'd appreciate it.

Have a great holiday.

Well, I'll start. The "T" is a lot earlier than a '27, while the maroon 4 door is a '40, the maroon coupe is a '46-48 Merc (is there enough detail on the photo so anybody know for sure?), and the whitish coupe is a '35 (could be a '36). All in all, a nice lookin' bunch of cars.

The T represents a 1916 but certainly could have started out of the factory as a 1927. Almost everything is available for the T. My guess is it is a genuine early Ford due to it having non-demountable rims. Most making a car out of later ones like the convenience of the later wheels and usually wouldn't change them for earlier ones. He had an interesting assortment, I especially like the first one.

T appears to be a 16 (brass radiator and elec lights) with a custom gas tank instead of the rear body trunk. First car appears to be a Chrysler "rounded grill, winged rad. cap and extra heavy artillery wheels.

Thanks for the input. Dad called the T a Torpedo. Supposedly a sports model.

Hi all; Check out the 'jack stands' under the Lincoln. Not V8 bells, but used to see V8 rear bells as stands everywhere even chromed for show cars. Newc

The Merc is 47 or 48. The 46 Merc had body color grill surround with stainless horizontal thin moldings attached to both vertical sides of that heavy surround assembly.

That is a great looking 47 or 48 Mercury Sedan Coupe. Thanks for posting.
