Jack, I will keep you in my prayers as I know the pain of a lost Father and mentor. Keep those wrenches turning in his honor and let his sound advice guide you!

Re: Lost my father/mentor
Thanks for all the wonderful replies. Sad to say that Dad never got to ride in Lil' Red. I was always hesitant to take her that far -over 300 mile round trip. If I had a 2 speed Columbia or a T5 trans it would have worked out. A little too late.

Re: Lost my father/mentor
Jack, so sorry to hear about your loss! I lost my dad a little over 5 years ago. It takes time to heal, but with the support of friends, you'll make it. You know, I've forgotten all of the times he busted my balls, but I remember every time he patted me on the back! Any time you feel down, do what I do! Remember one of those times that he patted you on the back! It's worked for me! Time does heal!

Re: Lost my father/mentor
Jack,
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your father. He had to be a great guy to build you a Maytag Soap box Derby in your youth. I know you have many fond memories of your father and may they be a comfort in your loss. God Bless, Bud Reynolds

Sorry for your loss, Jack. I lost my Mother, Dad, and oldest sister in 2006.
Some of my best memories are working on things with my Dad. |

Re: Lost my father/mentor
Sorry to hear of your loss, but as well said, your father will always be with you. Although my father has been dead for many years now, some of my fondest memories are of him coming to visit and soon after getting in my house, would say, "Lets fire up the A and go for a long ride. Funny thing is, he has just driven some 800 miles to my home. Still makes me smile. You too will have many fond memories to cherish. Jim...

Re: Lost my father/mentor
Jack,
Sorry to hear of your loss. You spoke of your dad often to me when we were chasing that noisy idler gear. I know he was a great man judging by the way you turned out. My Dad has been gone 56 years and I still miss him as if it was 56 hours. Charlie ny |
