Don't know much about the Medalist except is was an entry level Merc . My guess is , since they were trying to get away from the cheaper Ford and make themselves a more upscale car , the entry level Medalist would have been a low seller .

According to "The Cars of Lincoln-Mercury", they built 11,892 at a base price of $2389. Cool car, '56 Mercs are one of my favorites.

Cool cars
Medalist production numbers were

Series 57D - 4 door Phaeton=6685
Series 64E - Sport Coupe Hardtop=11,892
Series 70C - 2 door sedan=20,582
Series 73D - 4 door sedan=6653

This was the model that got the M260 dual quad setup in 1956.

Merc did bring the Medalist name back in 1958 for the second and final time.

Love to see a detailed picture of that M 260 setup.

I know a fair amount about the M 260 setup and could tell you if its 100% factory correct or not.

Would love to find one of these. I ended up short on an ebay bid some years back. Got to thinking about one again recently.
