Y block dipstick tube
Are the dipstick tubes the same for the front and rear sumps? I know the dipstick is different, but how about the tube? I have a rear sump pan in my truck with a front dipstick. It is cut to length, and with 6 quarts, after running, it reads full. But, now I have the oil pan off, and was thinking of moving the dipstick to the proper location. If the tube is the same I plan on moving it, but if the tube is different I will probably just leave it. 55 with a 272. Thanks

Re: Y block dipstick tube
The dipstick tube used on the right side of the block isn't the same shape as the one that fits in front, and the tab that holds it to the engine is different as well.
