I purchased one of the 7" X 7 1/4" heaters & hose fitting with inner scoop to route hot water to the unit. Having one heck of a time trying to figure how to mount it in my '30 coupe. The choke rod & fuel shut off don't help. The manifold heater is fine on Cape Cod but I'm now in New Hampshire. Always use my A as a daily driver. Surely some folks have worked this out. I could use some help. Would also like to be able to run a hose of warm air up on the windshield. Of course, would hope to not have to take everything apart just to lift the upper floor board.

You got that right. Don't create a major problem when you are on the road and have to take out the floor boards. Don't lock yourself into a big job every time you want to check something or change the battery. Good luck.

originally thought I'd use a minimal marine fresh water pump as I'd tried H/W heaters many years ago. Fellow in the club says the scoop works well for him with older heater. Forgot how huge 3/4" hose is. Plan on using wing nuts to mount & quick disconnect hose fittings. Perhaps that marine pump might be a better way & allow smaller hoses.

Um. I think the residents of your town have to vote on the name change. If you're "accepted" - you're IN.

If not - you never outgrow being "from afar."

Is this a Vintage Air unit? The easiest way I know of is to mount it on the firewall below the tank on the passenger side. I like this unit as it has a blower motor and lines for defrosters hoses as well as heat and it only about 8" square and it's all one unit. JP

Eureka! About two weeks ago I made up a like size box from foam board. Even put a little handle on it so I could try it for fit. Drew pix's of vents, etc. Probably spent a half hour every day trying to figure out how to put it on pas. side. Just won't really fit and allow removing floor, etc. Though I knew it wouldn't fit next to steer col, tried it anyhow.IT FITS! I've got solenoid start so that's not a problem. I'll know Sunday if any real problems, perhaps issues with col. seal, but I'll find a way.
I'll chop away some metal on lower right rear of the heater to conform to shape of firewall so it will fit flush.
This puts those huge 3/4" hoses on the "quiet" side of the engine. Also room for my size 8 1/2 shoes on the brakes when 2nd gear won't slow me down enough. Might be a problem if I wore 13's.
Will apply for NH citizenship when town offices are open. Has same hours as the dump, once a week, 6:38 am to 7:04 am.

As to Cape Cod. We were there 20 some years but were never allowed to say "we're from the Cape". If I'd forget, some one would run down our mail box the next day.

Come to think of it, you are not allowed to say your from the Cape even if you were born there but live west of the Brewster town line.

The Cape Coddahs are getting more selective. When I lived in East Sandwich, the line of demarcation between "real Cape" and "summer Cape" was the Bass River. (West of Dennis, East of Barnstable.)

Then I moved to Cow Hampshire where 60 percent of the population are from Massachusetts - but had the sense to get out.

Including me.

Don't buy the malarkey about Cow Hampshire not having an Income Tax.

Joe K, the reason I used Brewster town line is due to fact that the Bass River now runs east to west and replaced route 6 as the new canal. It was cheaper than putting a new bridge across the old canal.
