Default U bolt removel

I'm salvaging parts off whats left of a 1928 chassis. The front spring u bolt nuts refused to break loose. heat cycles pb blaster electric impact air impact. Broke out the 4 ft cheater after 3 days still would not budge. So I tried to tighten them and they broke loose. I'm not sure what helped but there off and in the parts barn.

I don't know what it is, but tightening them first, as you say, then loosen them, always works.

Also heating them then a cold dash of water works to.
