Contaminated gasoline

Any ideas on how to get rid of 20 gallons of contaminated gasoline mostly with water and rust?

Put a couple of gallons at a time into your DD when it is about 3/4 full on the gauge. I got rid of about 60 gallons of stinky ole' gas out of a boat this way by putting it in my '99 F150; never missed a beat. Plus, I had a couple of extra months with lower gas expense. Of course, this depends on your definition of "contaminated".

I had a 240D Mercedes, that ran on most anything contaminated--- one night I poured a gallon of new antifreeze by mistake--- realized it the next day- was worried, drained the tank some, drained the filter, didn't find any antifreeze, burned it just fine, my model A is happy enough with gasoline that the lawnmower knocks and smokes on----drain off the water, filter out the rust

When I was a teenager without money, I use to steal my Dad's turpentine and run my '48 flattie on that .... worked but made a lot of smoke and engine used a lot more oil. Anything to pick up the gang and chug into the drive-in.

Some municipalities have places where they will accept motor oil, antifreeze, paint, and other chemicals for free.

You don't say it is old only that it is contaminated with water and rust. The water will separate to the bottom (along with most of the rust). Just take the gas off the top and you have gotten rid of the water then use a filter for the fine rust particles. When you get done all you will have is a couple gallons of contaminated stuff which is a lot easier to dispose of than 20 gallons

Might try to ask a oil change center if they could put it in with the waste oil. Never hurts to ask.

My town has Haz waste collection days during the summer. Twice I brought old gas. They keep the containers, so you have to keep that in mind.

I have a buddy who has a repair shop and he puts it in his waste oil furnace with no problems....

A snow funnel will remove the water. The use a piece of chamois to l trap the particles.

Just that. Used in outside gas stations to separate show or rain from the gas during refueling of vehicles with cowl fuel tanks.
