Has anyone ever found that the hand throttle on their model A was installed so that it increased gas when it was pulled down? I thought it was designed to do just the opposite? Or am I confused?

Downward = more gas on all three of our A's.

Not really, welcome to the forum! The Model A is not necessarily intuitive. I think there are many places you can download a pdf version of the Model A "instruction book". What we would call an owner's manual these days. I think one of the Facebook pages like either MARC of MAFCA has one to download. I could be mistaking, but maybe Google it and see.

I bought my car in May of last year shortly after my wife had soulder surgery. Once it got all healed up, she wanted to drive it. She does really well, but her initial response was that starting it and then with the spark lever and GAV, etc. she said it was a little like rubbing your tummy and patting your head. I can certainly relate.

I have found that blaming my wife is a losing proposition.

Doug, there are three good Model A clubs in your area. I recommend you join one (or all three), if you haven’t already.

Thanks Ray. My wife and I were members of the Beaver club for a while a couple of years ago but I "un-retired" and could not maintain my model A hobby in a manner to do justice to the membership. I hope to get re-engaged now.
