Default 59 block in 33 frame

iI was out in the shop trying to install a 59 block in a stock 33 frame. I am having trouble because the motor mounts set too low and the pulley nut doesn't clear the front crossmember. The water pump outlets are way too low also. It looks like I need some spacers to raise the motor up to the correct height. Anyone else have a problem like mine?

Yes, my 34pu has a '42 Canadian motor and there are about 1" thk solid spacers on the frame crossmember and donut sits on top. It requires longer bolts but they align the water pump inlets to the radiator bottom outlets. Fan is mounted to gen/alt and is close to everything but works.

Getting ready to do this myself. You need an adapter that raises the engine. the frame and water pump holes are also slightly out of alignment. The adapter addresses this also. The adapter is from Bob Drake. Part number 41A-6023. The front pulley may need to be cut down/modified to clear the crossmember. Good luck

I just built a stock 59AB for a stock 34 coupe. I believe he had a machinist make a set of spacers for the mounts about 2in. I used the 59AB front pulley and cut off the front shive of the pulley. I believe he just cut the hump off the front spring perch where the hand crank goes through. Then everything cleared. Walt
