Default 31 wiper location

With an ea lab. motor, does it mount on the outside or inside of the windshield? Also, where is the switch supposed to be?

What type motor you are talking about, got a pic?
If you have an open car it mounts on the outside, if you have a closed car it mounts on the inside.
Mine is electric and mounts on the inside, I mounted a switch in an exsisting hole on the dash
I have the vacuum wiper that came on the car but the vacuum line was cut bent and damage.

I don 't have a picture yet. Just bought it off eBay . This type made by EA Laboratory was an original I think. Apparently does not have an integral switch. I am just not sure where the switch would have been (originally) or even if it really was an original wiper motor. From the bay pics, it looks as if it mounted on the outside.

What year and model is your car, is the wiper electric or vacuum?

As there were no electric wipers in 1931 you will have to figure something out.

My original electric wiper switch is located on the wiper motor . The wiper motor is mounted outside with a shaft going through to the inside so the On Off lever is just above the driver .

apparently, the EA Lab motor does not have a switch on the motor. According to my Model a books, it was apparently one type used; but no mention about the switch. Makes you wonder where Ford put it.

See page 20-8 of the Standards, the switch was in the motor.

Any electric wiper motors that I have seen on a Model A is not a proper installation and not dependable. Most after market are I believe European in origin. A real hash job to install.

Hate to call you out Keith, but your second sentence is not true, many open cars had the wiper mounted on the inside and many close cars were mounted outside.

Page 20-1 of the standard list an EA Lab wiper. I think the one I found on eBay must not be an A model wiper. I will just have to figure something out or buy another one. I just do not like the vacuum wiper. Thanks guys.
