front tire wear
On a friend's '29 roadster the right front tire shows significant wear in the center and towards the outside of center. Outside tread is OK. Checked the toe in and it is 1/16" + so that is good. Left front tire is OK. Suggestions as to his problem ? Thanks. Bill

Re: front tire wear
Check the camber on that wheel.

Re: front tire wear
Center wear often indicates over inflation. Is the pressure around 35 psi ?

Re: front tire wear
What kind of wear ? Any feather-edge or scallop ?
You can look from the front of the car and see the camber, but, it doesn't really sound as though you have a camber issue. 1/16" of toe-in is OK. I too was thinking tire pressure. 35# is correct. It could also be a bad/defective tire. |

Re: front tire wear
Sounds like too much pressure to me, is the gauge accurate?

Re: front tire wear
Pete,
heavy tire wear on the outside indicates that the toe-in is too large. But then correctly on both sides. If only one side wears on in or out side, this is an indication that something is warped on the suspension.

Re: front tire wear
I agree - the axle needs a tweek but obviously, it is the LHS that is more commonly bent here. (The kerb side)
