Default roadster door latch

Anybody have problems with the 28 roadster repro door latches. I had the left one break and now the right one has done the same thing. It appears the latch-plunger is made of a type of cast pot metal and they are braking. Good thing is they break in the closed position so you can still drive the the car till it is changed. Does anyone know it the originals had a steel plunger? or if there are repros that have a steel plunger?

The repop door latches are JUNK, the ones that came in my Brookville 28 body for my hi-boy broke and the car is NOT done. The originals are all steel, hope this helps. Dudley

DITTO on the Brookville Roadster door hinges. They looked good in the clear plastic packet, what a sad pile of crap after I opened it.

Guess I will start looking for some originals. I need 4 are the car is a 28 phaeton. Actually if I could find some originals maybe I could rebuild the plungers and install them in the repros.
