Default Model A wheel powdercoating

Does anyone know where I can get some apple green powder to do my wheels? I have called the website that is supplying the powder for weeks and left messages bu no one will respond. Are they out of business, or are they just poor business people. I need 6# of the correct apple green color. does anyone know where I can get some?

If you are looking for the apple green that will match the color charts published by national clubs, you are out of luck as far as powder is concerned. The last time Model A Wheel Colors delivered a product, according to this forum, was back in 2014.

With that said it appears that Apple Green-RAL 6025 is a close match.

Actually, weren't all mod A wheels painted black? Then the agencies would re-color the wheels......for a price!

WHEEL COLORS

Prior to June 1930, wheels were dipped in gloss black
enamel. Colored wheels, beginning in June 1930,
were available as an accessory (Judged in this area)
on all passenger vehicles except the Deluxe Roadster.
Deluxe Phaeton,. Convertible Sedan. Deluxe Tudor
and Deluxe Fordor (160-.C) which were equipped with
colored wheels as standard equipment. Ford specified
that colored wheels were first dipped in a base coat of black enamel, then
sprayed a final color coat. The following colors were available:

June 1930 through June 1931; Apple Green, Aurora Red. Orange.
Tacoma Cream.

September 1930 through June 1931; Black, Hessian Blue (on vehicles
painted Lombard Blue)

After June 1931; Black, Apple Green. Aurora Red. Tacoma Cream.

I paid http://www.modelawheelcolors.com/ for Apple Green 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything from them. I have sent 4 emails and called for 2 days.

I just initiated a charge back/complaint through Paypal against the company.

I guess I didn't do my homework very well on the company either.

I would call Blue Lake Poweder coating in Richland PA. They did qiute a few wheels for me and other running chassie parts. Phone: (717) 866-2213 If you google them the address says Myerstown PA. but they moved and are just east in Richland PA. About 5 miles east of Myerstown.

I wonder if the Owner of that company died?
It seems odd to me that they would keep the website up if they are done.
Several years have passed since it appears they have done any business on here that I know of.
Either way it is sad to see this company still appearing to be in Business.

Try calling them with this number or email (supplied by paypal merchant invoice):

Northwest Powder Coating
[email protected]
206-241-1614

FYI, I ordered on 8/23/15 and received the powder on 8/31/15. This is evidently a part-time business; I was patient and got my powder, apple green and was a perfect match.

That is the number that is on the Paypal invoice. I had called it for 2 days solid. I even tried different times. From 9-10 am and then again the next day from 3-5pm their time. No one ever answered and I left 3 voice mails and emailed them 4 times. No one ever responded. I placed the order 11 days ago and never heard anything from them.

I called again today and they answered and said they will send it out tomorrow. Hopefully that is a good sign! I will post back.
