Default 30-31 OPEN vs CLOSED Cab Pickups

If you had a 1930-31 Open and Closed cab pickup body sitting side by side are the bottoms of the back of the cabs the same? I have an original 30-31 open cab that needs the missing 6-8 inches of the bottom, hope the closed cab corners and rear piece are the same. First one I've ever seen in 50+ years in the hobby. Thanks! Bob

I have a '31 RDPU and would be glad to take some pictures if that would help. Tell me the shots you need. They are slightly more common here in Southern California with the better winter weather. One of my favorite photos shows one in the snow. I have seen a handful over the last 50+ years. They were frequently used in the orchards where the top was removed and they could be driven under the trees. The only good article I have seen on them was in the July-August 1973 issue of Ford Life Magazine.

Brookville makes a complete 1930-31 roadster pickup body and probably sells the panel you need separately, see https://brookvilleroadster.com/store...r-pickup-body/

The short answer is no. The doors, door openings, and sills are longer (and the side of the back panel shorter) on the closed cab vs the open cab.

Ok, but is the corner curve the same? I could see cutting and adding the difference in length. The world had a lot of 28-29 Open Cab Pick Ups I just think it would be worth the effort to save a 30-31, a real one using real Ford bits. Bob
