Delving into the next project
Hey guys! very soon ill be taking out the interior to start the next project on my list. I'm going to be doing the floor boards. Is there any common problems you have encountered while doing a floor board project, and is there any precautions i should take/keep in mind while doing this project? All of your help will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Delving into the next project
I had to replace some of the supports as well. I used 4130 aircraft sq tube. I painted top and bottom with primer untill I get bottom coated .

Re: Delving into the next project
It depends on how extensive your repair will be. Are the rockers going to be replaced? What about the bottom of the door posts? Will they need repairs also? Your most important task is to maintain body alignment, especiall in the door frame area. If your just doing floor pans then just do one side at a time. Make sure you reuse or replace the braces under and on top of the floor pans.

I wish I knew a bit more, enough to help, but I don't. I think that was common in the 49's rockers wasting out etc, though so there ought to be help out there. You won't be the first to have done one of these.Lots of great knowledge on the HAMB too.
Good luck. |
