A couple of purest questions
I am getting ready to put together my ground up 47 wagon. Everything primed and ready for paint. Can one tell me if Ford painted the under side of hoods black or the color of the outside body ?? Does any one have the source for cloth material used between outer fenders and inner fenders and on various other areas where metal meets metal. can one tell me the color name or number for the TAN used on wagon interiors, steering wheel post and most pillar brackets.
thanks again for all the help since I have been on the Ford Barn. A wealth of information at the touch of a key board. Frederic |

Re: A couple of purest questions
There is a Yahoo users group for woodie owners, and the National Woodie Club has resources that can answer those questions.

Under the hood should be body color, Dennis Carpenter should have that material for between the sheet metal.

Re: A couple of purest questions
frederic, When I restored my '46 Ford wagon I couldn't find that welting. I talked to one of the guys in Nick Alexanders shop and was told to use the old fashioned cloth type electric tape. It worked well and has lasted for 34,000 miles. Sal is correct under hood is body color. You might want to purchase the 1941 thru 1948 Ford book offered by the V-8 Club and I hope you belong to the National Woodie Club.
