The water pours out the tailpipe when running moonshine gas, it’s crap but the company buys it to put in their truck. kwikfill in West NY has real gas, I put it in my old Colorado and mileage better, but no gas motor now, still go out of my way for real gas for mowers, atv, and flatheads.
I hear it takes gallons of diesel to make a gallon of moonshine they put in our gas.

It's expensive, but I use 94 octane AV gas from the local airport in all the small equipment, and in the roadster,(old 59AB stock car motor from the 1960's). The engine loves it and hauls butt for a pretty much stock motor with an aluminum flywheel, Navarro heads, 21A ignition and single 94. Last time AV gas was about $6.00 a Gallon. It has been less, and I expect when things settle down the price at the pumps for weasel pee at $1.80 a gallon will translate into less fir AV gas.

Here in the Chatt TN area we have non ethanol gas at some stations, not all but some. I always use it in my small engine mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, etc. I mow over an acre about every 5 days and have always used non ethanol gas in it and it is 20 years old.
no problems so far.

no problems so far. I have never even had to change the spark plugs.

No ethanol in the fuel here in Alaska, the best octane is only 91. my Harley's are supposed to run on 93, but they run ok on the 91. regular is 87 octane. not sure anymore what av gas is anymore, I haven't bought any in several years

Because they know it's better gas and recreational folks want it. Like diesel it should cost less to make but they charge more. It takes more energy and cost more to produce 1 gallon of ethanol gas than you'll ever get out of one gallon of ethanol gas.

Here is a link to help you find non-ethanol gas. Make it one of your favorites.

https://www.pure-gas.org

Before I travel I always print out a list from the states I will be traveling through.

And if you stop at one of the stations and they no longer have non-ethanol, you can contact the site and have them make a change. Or, if you find a station that has non-ethanol and it is not on the list, you can notify them to add it.

It is $.80 more at kwikfill in west ny but I have seen it a couple of times on my way back to or inWilliamsport. There is a big difference in go and mileage
Moonshine sucks, piss water out the pipes like a hose.

Here in Kansas non-ethanol is normally the same price as premium, not that much different.

If it's needed, most street flatheads do not run high enough CRs to require high octane fuel. And most stock engines run fine on very low octane fuel, which is what they were designed for.

Bought some racing fuel last week @7.78 per gal. Ya want to play ya gotta pay. I think about whittling more every day for a new hobby. Did do it as a Kid to make my own toys.

Most all avgas in the USA is 100LL or 100 octane low lead which is blue in color for identification. They reduced the amount of lead to a minimum for 100 classification so that is will burn well in engines with 8.5:1 to 10:1 compression ratios without lead fouling the plugs too bad. It was adopted from 100/130 which was green in color but had too much lead for the smaller engines of 720 CID or less.

The guys that still run the big aircraft engines like the 1820 through the 2800 can generally still get by with 100LL but many have fuel specially blended for them at an increased cost. The big 3350 and 4360 engines really need the 115/145 purple avgas to run well. They run cooler with it since they had problems with overheating during their development back in the day. The cost of running the big B-29 like FIFI or the 1049 Super Constellations has got to be astronomical. I wouldn't want to pay that bill for sure.
