Kool, extending the cab through the doors gives you the added leg room to get in & out, which is helpful in the later years of life.

It appears the guy driving likely needs the extra size of the cab.

Here is one from the 2010 Model A New England meet. A young guy from PA extended the cab enough for his 6' 6" frame could fit inside.

There's a guy here who makes extended cabs for '28/9 pickup cabs for hot rodders.. He refuses to sell to a restorer. Go figure.

I guess we are lucky here as I have seen vendors that have them for sale.

Maybe he supplies your vendors and part of the deal is that he not sell direct.

Maybe but I think Howell's Sheetmetal Co. makes their own.

Last time I spoke to him, he was selling bodies to anyone who fronted up with the cashola. He didn't care if you were a rodder or a restorer.

Not really, just like the extra room when you're six foot plus. Bought my 6-1/2" cab extensions through Bert's...made by Howell.

I have a guy from Queensland beside me as I type this and he was refused unless he bought the (modified) scuttle as well.

Ahh, so if you ask to buy the cab only, and not the tank/cowl, he won't separate them. I didn't talk about that with him as such, just that the cab would be nice to use on original running gear for the extra room, and that it is new steel.
Do you know if an original tank/cowl would fit? If it does, you could always either swap with a rodder, or fit an original of your own.
